Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Inc.
A Client-Choice Food Pantry Serving South Hadley and Granby
Our Story
Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Inc. is a friendly place where our dedicated staff and volunteers provide nutritious food and basic necessities to residents in need.
It all began in 2010 when the United Methodist Church’s mission committee was looking for a way to serve our community, and members learned that food was the greatest need. We decided to become part of a wider effort to combat food insecurity – lack of access to enough food for an active, healthy life.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Inc. opened our doors on Jan. 22, 2011 in the United Methodist Church, at 30 Carew St., where we now serve about 150 families a month. We provide between six to eight days of food each month for each household member with support from food drives, fundraising, and the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Fresh vegetables from the Food Pantry Garden (our space within the South Hadley Community Garden) are available in season. Our pantry also provides personal care products, household products, and dog and cat food.when available.
The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts is a member of Feeding America, a national network of more than 200 food banks, and we are proud to be a memberof our local Food Bank. Please note that cash goes a long way; your $1 donation will provide 3 meals through the generosity and support of The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Inc. is proud to partner with the United Way of Pioneer Valley.
We are open Wednesdays from 12:30-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
