Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Pantry feels it is important to remain a "client choice pantry" as long as possible. We ask customers to drive into the parking lot and wait in line in their cars until a volunteer comes to them and reads them the menu. After making their choices, customers remain in line and as usual, volunteers will place the groceries in the car. This no touch process helps keep everyone safe.
There are many extras throughout the year thanks to the generous and thoughtful people who live in South Hadley. Quick breads made by Plains School children, pumpkins from a resident, and tooth brushes from a local dentist are some of the extras.
While waiting for the order to be filled, customers are in a congenial atmosphere with volunteers who genuinely care about them. Laughter abounds and customers leave with a smile and a "thank you".
